Originally a Sweet Madness song recorded live in November of 1980 and released on Made in Spokane Volume 2. It was the last song to still remain in the live set of later incarnations of the group. With three minutes of extra master tape left at a Variant Cause recording session in 1987, a studio version of this song finally got recorded. Jan, Mark and Greg were all in Next Exit as well as Variant Cause, so because it was one of their early songs, we are including this recording here.
lyrics
I had to call you up and hear the dirt
These crazy rumors been flying around
They say you got a new job and you're real content
I hear you got an old man and you got money to spend
I know you think I'm irresponsible but would you look at you
Yeah would you look?
Are you domesticated?
Yeah, why's that
Or have I speculated, I don't know
You seem regulated, Well, maybe that's me
It's been substantiated
Have you been checkin' on me?
Yeah, I had to call you up and hear it from you
Tell me these crazy rumors aren't true
They say you stay home nights just to watch TV
You act like you got somethin' over on me
I know you think I'm irresponsible
But would you look at you, yeah would you look
Are you domesticated?
Yeah, why's that
Or have I speculated, I don't know
You seem regulated, Well, maybe that's me
It's been substantiated
Have you been checkin' on me?
‘Cuz now you worry 'bout important things
And appointments you must make
And which fork you should use on your salad plate
Are you?
Are you domesticated?
Yeah, why's that
Or have I speculated
I don't know
You seem regulated
Well, maybe that's me
It's been substantiated
Have you been checkin' on me?
