about

Made Some Decisions and Static Cling were the first songs written and recorded with the new lineup. Recorded in 1981.

lyrics

You need to take a crash course
You need to take a crash course, baby
You need to take a crash course
You need to take a crash course, baby

I need to learn about the calm when the wind is clear
And the way men fight when they have no fear
Walk right out of the cage I’ve built
I’ll stand up, I will walk, I will run, I’ll break free

Pushing time, for too long
Treading warm water in limbo, for too long

Chorus
I’ve made some decisions, made some decisions
Are they the right ones? I hope so
I’ve made some decisions, made some decisions
Are they the right ones? I think so

You need to take a crash course
You need to take a crash course, baby
You need to take a crash course
You need to take a crash course, baby

I believe when you walk into the combat zone
That you play for keeps and you hold your own
If you can’t take the heat get out of the oven
And walk, you can run, but just leave you’re dead weight
And we’ve been

Pushing time, for too long
Treading warm water in limbo, for too long

Chorus
I’ve made some decisions, made some decisions
Are they the right ones? I hope so
I’ve made some decisions, made some decisions
Are they the right ones? I think so

Uh oh, crash course
Uh oh, crash course

about

Next Exit Seattle, Washington

In 1981 Sweet Madness ditched Spokane for Seattle and changed their name to Next Exit.

The new lineup featured a more guitar-driven sound, with lead guitarist Greg Morlan replacing keyboardist John Robison.

For their first live show, they played at a Drive-In Movie Theater on the roof of the concession stand.

Static Cling was the first song they wrote with the new lineup.
