lyrics

Every day just seems a complication
Everything just seems a hassle today
Everything just seems a complication
Every way just seems a problem today

Up and down and sideways over, trying to sort the pieces out
What goes here and what goes there and what to keep and what to throw out
You’re not signing up, you’re just answering five simple questions
We’re at the mercy of the moment

I’m having trouble finding the focus
Can never seem to keep it clear
I just cannot stay aligned
I’m having problems staying in time

Here and there and halfway over
We’ve been through all this before
Let’s just throw away the façade
What is real and what’s ulterior
What do you mean, what do I think?
What do you think I think?
I mean you took my sanity level right up
to the statute of limitations
We’re at the mercy of the moment

The new lineup featured a more guitar-driven sound, with lead guitarist Greg Morlan replacing keyboardist John Robison.

For their first live show, they played at a Drive-In Movie Theater on the roof of the concession stand.

Static Cling was the first song they wrote with the new lineup.
